Bai Plu Thai Food & Aki Sushi Bar – What a combination!

Published by at 1:07 pm under Eating Out

I would have to say that two of my favorite cuisines are sushi and Thai food. So interestingly enough, my friends took me to this restaurant in Long Beach the other day to celebrate my birthday (I’m sure by now you are sick of hearing me eat for my birthday! I swear this is the last time this year!). Basically, this restaurant offers both a sushi  menu, and a Thai food menu. Since I had my fair share of sushi for the week, I opted to order only Thai food. I would have to say that it was decent, but not above par to other Thai restaurants that I’ve been to. It does satisfy both elements if I was ever indecisive about whether I wanted to eat sushi or Thai food. Indeed, one location with both cuisines was very different & not too shabby. You can find out more information and reviews on this restaurant on Yelp.com.

I always order the ever-so-popular pad thai. This one, however, didn't live up to expecations.

The beef pad-see-yew was similar to all the others, so I guess that could be a good thing.

Recently, I've found myself enjoying thai curry. This one is the panang curry with pork.

The restaurant is so silly. They played a very loud version of "Happy Birthday" over the intercom, jolting people from their dinners. Needless to say, I made a quick wish, blew out the candle, and dove into the green tea ice cream surrounded by whipped cream.
