Labor Day Chicken Wings & September Giveaway Contest
We hope everyone had a nice holiday weekend! We were invited to Aki’s Labor Day BBQ and since it was a “chicken” theme, we brought over chicken wings. The main reason we wanted to do chicken wings was because we got 2 bottles of Country Bob’s All-Purpose Sauce to try out. We got an email from them a few weeks ago and they sent us their product to review. We used their recipe booklet to prepare our marinade, but it was done completely different on our end. However, it still turned out great!

In a bowl, combine 1/2 cup of Country Bob's All-Purpose Sauce, 1/4 cup sugar, 1/3 cup dijon mustard, 1 small onion chopped, 3 garlic cloves minced, and 1 tbsp chili powder. Mix together to ensure all ingredients combine evenly. Then transfer to a zip loc bag and add 4 lbs of chicken wings to the marinade.

Marinate the chicken wings for at least 2-3 hours. (We did it for 5 hours).

Grill the wings over the BBQ, making sure you rotate frequently to ensure wings cook evenly.

The final result should look like this! The chicken wings are moist and a little sweet, with a hint of heat. Our friends really enjoyed them. If you got to taste it, let us know what you think!
So who wants to try to make their own Labor Day Chicken Wings? Here’s your opportunity! Country Bob’s is sponsoring our September Giveaway Contest. We will have FOUR winners and each winner will receive 2 bottles of Country Bob’s All-Purpose Sauce – which is great as a steak sauce, or with chicken, fries, hamburgers, soups, stews, baked beans, or whatever your little heart desires.
Here is what we want you to do! Leave a comment letting us know what your favorite style of chicken wings are! Whether it’s crispy, spicy, sweet, or your own version! We’ll pick 4 winners on September 20th!

Would like to try this BBQ sauce. Thanks for the wonderful giveaway
I like my wings crispy and then drenched in a spicy sauce!
sweet with a hint of heat sounds heavenly..that’s what I would want.
I’ve loved the Frog Commissary’s ‘Oriental Barbecued Chicken Wings’ and make them 2-3 times a year – great for potlucks. Their recipe also is for 4 pounds of wings.
Oriental Barbecued Chicken Wings
Serve 20 as an hors d’oeuvre or
5 as an appetizer
Pass with plenty of napkins as an hors d’oeuvre, or serve them on shredded greens as an appetizer, or with rice for an inexpensive entrée.
1/4 cup Chinese fermented black beans
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup sesame oil
1/4 cup unseasoned rice vinegar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup molasses
2/3 cup hoisin sauce
1/4 cup horseradish
1/4 cup Dijon mustard
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1/2 cup ketchup
4 pounds chicken wings (about 28-36)
Combine all the ingredients except for the chicken wings. Toss the sauce with the wings and let marinate in the refrigerator overnight or for at least 6 hours. Preheat the oven to 400°. Arrange the wings, with their sauce, in a single layer on foil-lined rimmed baking sheets and bake 45 minutes, basting every 10 minutes, until well glazed and a deep, rich, reddish-brown color. Serve hot or at room temperature.

We love our wings baked – they get really really crispy but not greasy. The sauce comes in when the wings hit the table. Put the sauce in little individual dipping bowls or simply pass the bottle. Great Stuff!

My top wing choice is spicy, but I also love just plain crispy!
