September Giveaway – $25 Safeway Gift Card
Our friends at Safeway and General Mills sent us a $25 Safeway gift card which can be used at Dominick’s, Tom Thumb, Randalls, Vons, and Genuardi’s to help promote their “10% Goes Back to Schools” program. The Safeway family of stores is making it simple to give back with “2 Ways 2 Earn” cash for your schools with Box Tops for Education and the “10% Goes Back to Schools” program. Since we are in Southern California, we got to use our gift card at Vons to purchase items that benefited this great charity.
Box Tops for Education has already given away over $320 million to help the more than 69,000 schools participating. And if that wasn’t enough, earning Box Tops is even easier this year with four new brands participating in the program: Progresso Soup, Totino’s Pizza, Betty Crocker Cake Mixes and Gold Medal Flour.
To help your local schools even further, just look for the “10% Goes Back to Schools” yellow school bus tags on over 2,000 of your favorite items throughout Safeway from now until September 14th. When you purchase participating products with your Club Card, Safeway will give 10% of the purchase price to the local school of your choice.
Here’s how it works:
- Check your receipt from August 11 – September 14. The total will be updated each time you shop.
- Beginning on September 18, a redemption code will be printed at the bottom of your receipt.
- Visit backtoschools.escrip.com before October 13 to choose your favorite participating local school, then simply enter your redemption code to make your donation.

Education remains to be very important and we have a daughter who will be attending school very soon. Giving back to these school are important if it means text books are up to date, and supplies are readily available for the kids. Extra curricular activities such as sports and other arts should also be available for the kids, so that they are able to express themselves in positive ways.
I don’t heave small kids, but saving the Box Tops is an easy way to help. Our area has been especially hard hit by by the recession and high unemployment and every little bit helps.
I’ve entered the Bonus Box Tops sweeps because my daughter’s school is saving up for a couple new computers for the classrooms!
I’ve entered so I could have a chance to win my school new equipment for the library and classrooms.
Please enter me in the contest. Our schools need all the help they can get. We have dedicated teachers, parents and administrators. We all need to be behind them so that our future adults will make this a better world to live in for all. THANKS!
My son’s now in college, and I think our school taxes are plenty to show our continued support for our school district. I decided that there are special needs children in our community who need a little extra help so I’d like to help out a fine local institution that helps these children.
So glad you are doing this giveaway! My daughters use the box tops at their schools for classroom supplies. We’re at two different schools so we have to double our box top purchases to prevent sibling rivalries from flaring up.

WHat a wonderful opportunity to give back to our schools. I am a single mother of 2 special needs kids. My school goes above and beyond making sure that their needs are met and that they reciece the therapy and extra support they deserve. I would be honored to be able to give back to my kids school.
My child’s school is making all kinds of cut-backs..from classes, to equipment, etc. Every little bit of money will help!
I don’t have any kids, but I went to public school and have a lot of teacher friends….any bit helps!!
downtown dc. need i say more? the educational system in the district is awful. and it really hurts that dc spent their annual budget three times over on snow removal this year.
I love safeway. We have one very near our house, so I shop there all of the time. My niece just started first grade yesterday, and I signed up for several days to help out in her classroom. The boxtop sweepstakes could offer a great boost to the quality of classroom equipment at her school, which they definitely have a need for. Great giveaway! Thanks for sharing! =)

Education is a must. My sister is a teacher and I’m sure we all realize now how much of their income goes back into the classroom and students. She has taught for over 20 years and still has her passion for teaching….I’m very proud of her. Since, you don’t know her I will tell you a secret….she used to “up chuck” the first day of school when we were growing up…..she still does it as a teacher….now that’s some kind of dedication. She’s fun loving and a character.
I’m enetering because times are tough economically. My friends that are teachers are saying how tight the budgets are and every bit will help.
I could use the groceries and my local schools could really use the box tops – so it’s a win/win!!
The local school has had cut-backs, box tops do help with extra books for some grades. Every little bit does help out the classes. Sometimes they get things for outside the classroom, whick the kids do enjoy.
I entered because I am positive that my local school could use the money!
I am entering for my grands school. It is a new school and can use all the help it can get.
I entered the sweepstakes as part of a giveaway on another blog, and I think my school could benefit in many ways if I won. There are so many losses today with the economy that I think our school could use it for books, computers, etc.

I entered because saving and donating box tops is an easy way to benefit our local schools. the box tops program has helped our local school purchase computer equipment.
I am collecting box tops for our local elementary school to help get books and art materials for the students. Also winning the gift card will help in our grocery budget. Thanks!
I save box tops for the school down the street because I don’t have kids yet. It is easy to just drop them by every couple of months. I know they could use the box tops for more classroom supplies and I could use the gift card.
Thanks!
This is such a great cause! We don’t have any Safeway stores here in Louisville, but if we did I’d be all over this!

I’m entering because this is a program I’d like to support. I save the boxtops for my niece’s school which will use them for classroom equipment.
I entered the sweepstakes because schools can use all the help they can these days with budget cuts and today’s economic situation. My local school would benefit a lot by allowing them to continue there extracurricular activities.
We use boxtops at my older kid’s school, but since they’re in different classes, we have to buy double the products! Since we love the food that boxtops come on, that’s no hardship!
