The Best Game Dip Ever – Dubbed the “Man Dip”
If you guys don’t know by now, the Lakers are going to the NBA Finals and Game 1 starts this Thursday. So to start the series of games, we wanted to share a super easy recipe that will be a big hit at any game party. Daniel’s friend Martin had shared this recipe with us and we promised to feature it on our blog. Apparently it’s called the Man Dip, and I believe the reason why is because it’s got a lot of meat and spiciness. We got the opportunity to make this over the weekend at our friends’ place, and it was almost immediately devoured. It’s definitely something you’ve never tasted before, so I encourage you to try it out and see for yourself. It’s ridiculously good.

Essentially, there are only 4 ingredients in this entire dip: an 8oz package of cream cheese, spicy sausage, a can of diced tomatoes and green chilies, and jalapenos (shown below).

The original recipe called for diced jalapenos, but we wanted to kick it up a notch by roasting them first to give it more flavor. If you don't have a small rack, you can just put it on the stove top like this to roast.

After it's completely blackened, wrap each jalapeno in plastic wrap to allow the heat to separate the skin. Keep it like that for a few minutes.

Use a knife and carefully scrape the black skin off. Then dice the jalapenos and set aside. (Use as many as you want, depending on the level of spiciness you want).

Cook the spicy sausage in a pan; when it's done browning, drain the excess liquid and fat.

Add the entire pack of cream cheese and can of tomatoes. The cream cheese will melt and together with the tomatoes, will create a somewhat liquidy texture.

The end result should look something like this! It's meaty and creamy, with a hint of spiciness. Don't worry, it doesn't taste like cream cheese at all. To be honest, this entire recipe is easier "done" than "said". Enjoy your game parties!!

Oh Yeah! on this dip! I am forwarding this to my friend I am visiting in Texas, for us to make, and we do not need a game. We can just watch her hubby yelling at the game like men do, lol
This is one awesome dish. Looking forward to more on thursday. Go Lakers!
I’m so happy you’re going to try the recipe! Please do let us know if it was a “winner.” And you’re right – you don’t need a game to make this dish. Eat it anytime, anywhere.
Hey foodaddict buddy (aka Aki), we’ll see you Thurs! I’ll talk to Cecille to see what we can make.
This looks like a chest hair-inducing dip and something like my own hubby would want on game day, or just about everyday. And I’d be right beside him trying this dip out too. Thanks.
yum… nice
This is just like my sausage dip recipe – Super easy and full of flavor! I love how you roasted the jalapeno – I’ll definitely be doing that next time I make this!
This looks so good. I would like to add a small amount of velveta to add more liquid- but this looks yummy.
this is acutally called the FATTY DIP you put it in the crock pot and add SourCream and double everything.
we add a can of drained corn and drained and rinsed black beans, yummy!
My friend Richard came up with the name Man Dip I do believe. Not joking! His wife made this for the first time for a party and when he tasted it he said “That’s Man Dip!” She said “What?” He said “That’s Man Dip! That’s a dip made for men!” Since then we’ve called it Man Dip! That was about 4 years ago! We do make it a slight bit different though. We don’t do the jalepeno. We do 1 lb. sausage, 1 block cream cheese and 2 cans Rotel. Super easy and everyone loves it!
I made this dip for the Florida Georgia game this weekend and it was gone in less than twenty minutes (I even doubled the recipe)! The guys were literally standing around the bowl eating as much as they could, they knew the end was near! It was awesome, thanks for sharing this recipe!!!!
Also really good with.valveeta instead of cream cheese
I make this same recipe, but I bake it at 350 for 15 minutes. Yummm.
We make a broccolo dip with a lb of cooked and drained sausage, 16 oz pkg chopped broccoli cooked and drained, one can cream of mushroom soup, small can drained mushrooms and a Lb pkg velveeta. Put in a crockpot and cook on high until cheese melts and contents are hot. serve with tortilla chips. This is an awesome dip. I’m anxious to try yours too.
Thanks
